Arkane Jewellery was established in 1989 shortly after I had qualified at the Birmingham School of Jewellery in the the Jewellery Quarter in Hockley – a fabulous place to learn the trade! .
Many years on, and after a succession of workshops and studios, I now find myself happily settled in my best workshop yet in Hallidays Mill, Chalford alongside my long-time workshop buddy and fellow Cotswold Craftsmen member Nat Morley. We are happy to welcome visitors to the workshops and also have a small foyer area where you can view some of our work.
Now in it’s 29th year of trading, Arkane continues to stay true to its founding principles – to produce unique, individually designed pieces of work, all of which contain something of the maker about them.
Anglo-Saxon designs
I have always had a great fascination with history and did my final thesis on Anglo-Saxon metalwork. The amazing craftsmanship and designs of this era have never ceased to inspire me and be the main influence in my work featuring crazy abstract animals, natural forms and wonderful flowing curves and spirals. Inspired by ancient works, the pieces are still created with a contemporary feel.
Commissions
Most stock pieces are in silver but I can make up pieces in gold , platinum or mixed metals including copper or brass. Pieces can be made up to your own design or designed for and with you.
